Pabna Jail Superintendent and two guards were accused in a case of taking Tk 1 lakh as bribe from Bera pourasava officials, reports UNB.

Jail guard Akteruzzaman filed the case with Pabna Sadar thana. It said jail subedar Ishaq and guard Azizul in connivance with Superintendent Rezaul Karim allowed the Accountant and Engineer of  Bera pourasava to meet poura chairman Abdul Baten in the jail after taking Tk 1 lakh as bribe from them.

During the meeting the poura officials got back-dated signature of chairman Baten on cheques and other documents, Chairman Baten is detained in the jail following joint forces arrested him on March 20.

Police confirmed the filing of the case but said none of the accused was arrested till late in the evening.

Contacted by cell phone jail super Rezaul Karim said he is out of Pabna and refrained to comment on the case against him.
