Acting deputy director general (news) of state-run Bangladesh Television Shahida Alam has been suspended for "professional inefficiency", the government said in a statement Sunday.

Director (advertising) M Monwarul Islam has been given the additional charge of deputy director general (news), the Press Information Department said.
