Awami League presidium Saturday accused Jamaat-e-Islami of staging violence at Baitul Mukarram Mosque Friday alleging that two Rokons of Jamaat led the attack on police, journalists and general people, reports UNB.

After a meeting of the presidium, party acting general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam questioned how the communal force could stage the incident while the state of emergency is in force.

He said the government did not take any measure against it. Similar incidents occurred at Hathazari in Chittagong Friday.
Ashraf said now it is a question whether any government does exit in the country.

"Such incidents cannot take place without government support."

He said Hijbul Tahir is a front organisation of Jamaat-e-Islami. Awami League thinks that Jamaat is responsible for it. Two Rokons are leading the incidents and "Awami League has got evidence about it."

Expressing concern at the government inaction, Ashraful said the government must think about where the country would go in absence of its action.
