Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman and acting AL president Zillur Rahman
The government has invited the Awami League to pre-dialogue talks through a mobile-to-mobile text message, an adviser said.

Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman told bdnews24.com Saturday that he had sent an SMS to acting AL president Zillur Rahman inviting the party's leaders for the next pre-dialogue session.

The AL has picked eight senior party leaders for the next pre-dialogue session with the government, an AL leader said earlier in the day.

The eight-member panel will take part in the next round of informal talks with the government ahead of the official dialogue.

"We are waiting for a signal from the government," said acting AL general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.

"We will join the talks once the schedule and the venue have been set," he told reporters after a meeting at the house of Zillur Rahman in Gulshan.

The eight party representatives, headed by the acting party chief, include policymaking presidium members Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Amir Hossain Amu, Abdur Razzak, Tofail Ahmed, Suranjit Sengupta and Motia Chowdhury and acting general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.

Ashraful hoped AL leaders would attend the final dialogue alongside party president Sheikh Hasina.
