AP, LONDON -- The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Friday.

Gold rose.

The euro traded at $1.5828, down from $1.5912 late Wednesday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

--101.22 Japanese yen, down from 102.04

--0.9992 Swiss francs, down from 1.0081

--1.0181 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0177

The British pound was quoted at $1.9735, down from $1.9843 Gold traded in London at $922.40 a troy ounce, down from $926.50 late Thursday.
