Four caretaker government advisers held an informal meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami Thursday, a party leader said.

The one and a half hour meeting, meant to prepare for forthcoming formal dialogue between the government and political parties, took place at Rail Bhaban in the city.

"An adviser proposed an informal meeting. We responded accordingly," the party's assistant secretary general M Kamaruzzaman told bdnews24.com.

"We discussed the proposed dialogue, holding of free and fair elections and post election issues. We presented our views on these matters," he said.

The meeting was attended by foreign adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury , communications adviser Ghulam Quader, LGRD adviser Anwarul Iqbal and commerce adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman.

Jamaat-e-Islami was represented by assistant secretaries general M Kamaruzzaman and Abdur Razzak, and executive committee members Nayeb-e-Ameer Maqbul Ahmed and Abdus Sobhan.

The advisers held informal meetings with the Awami League and Jatiya Party on Monday and Wednesday respectively.
