Foreign Advisor Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury announced that Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi would visit Bangladesh on April 24-25 in response to his invitation, reports UNB.

"Bangladesh and China enjoy the closest possible relationship. This link is historic and the Foreign Minister''s visit will surely strengthen it," Iftekhar said.

He said, "We have always asserted that cooperation with China is a key principle of our foreign policy. I shall certainly be looking forward to hosting him as an honoured guest."

The advisor of the caretaker government made the remarks after receiving Chinese Ambassador Zheng Qingdian at his office this (Monday) afternoon. They discussed the upcoming tour and other aspects of bilateral relations.
