The dead body of the victim has been buried reportedly without autopsy through a negotiation that cost a very good amount. Sources said, Sharmin Akhter Mitu, daughter of Nazer Ali, of village Kanthalbaria was taken to the house of Rekha, one of her distant relatives, to work as house maid in Pabna town three months ago.

Rekha used to work as a primary school teacher. It has been reported that Rekha resorted to torture on Mitu in various ways frequently.

Even, once being severely tortured, she fled to Rajshahi from Pabna last month and did not want to go back there but her father and other relatives convinced her to change her decision.. On April 4, Mitu was mercilessly beaten and tortured by her employer Rekha, who confined her in a room. At one stage Mitu died.

Then Rekha poured poison into her mouth and sent her to Pabna Sadar Hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead. The dead body of Mitu was taken to her Kanthalbaria village home without any autopsy at around on Saturday evening. The villagers noticed several marks of torture on the body of Mitu.

On getting information, Police rushed thereto but failed to file any case in this connection because father of the victim negotiated the case in exchange of taka 60,000. As a result, the dead body of Mitu was buried at the village grave yard without any autopsy.
