Detained Awami League president Sheikh Hasina was taken back to special jail Sunday morning after she underwent eye examination at Square Hospital.

A number of eye tests were carried out while Hasina stayed at the hospital from 8:30 am to 10:45 am.

After escorting her back to the special jail, the DIG prisons Maj Shamsul Haider Siddiqui told reporters, "The condition of Sheikh Hasina's right eye has improved.

Doctors are trying to take care of her problems with the left eye. No new medication for the eyes was given. But she was given a new medicine for vertigo." Brig Gen (retd) James Gomes, general manager, Square Hospital told bdnews24.com, "Sheikh Hasina was brought to the hospital in connection with her eye treatment.

She went back after the tests were carried out." "Dr Shah Alam, the eye specialist examined her eyes and gave medicine. The doctor will again see her on April 13," he said.

Gomes also said, "After Sheikh Hasina arrived at the hospital, Dr Ziaul Haque and Dr Sarwar A Alam found her blood pressure and pulse rates normal." Earlier, she was taken to the same hospital Wednesday for eye examinations.
