Around 2,300 domestic and poultry fowls of two villages were culled in Birganj upazila here Tuesday night after detection of avian influenza, reports UNB. Local livestock officials said some 2,300 fowls and 338 eggs were destroyed at Damaikhetra and Sitlai villages as the laboratory test confirmed the existence of H5N1 virus. They said some fowls of D-way Trust Poultry Farm died recently in the locality. Later, the virus was confirmed after laboratory test. |
