Chief Justice M Ruhul Amin Wednesday said unfairness as well as injustice would not exist in the country if discipline could be maintained strictly at all levels of society, reports agency. "It is discipline which makes a citizen competent through proper education both at family and institutional levels. And only the educated as well as the scholars can run the state efficiently," he said while addressing a reception at Gopal Chandra Institute (GCI) here. Justice Amin was a student of GCI, the oldest educational institution of the district, from 1950 to 53. He studied from Class V to VIII in this institute. Recalling his boyhood memories in this institute, he said Pabna was the town, where he first experienced urban life. "I came to Pabna, while my father was transferred here," he said. Deputy Commissioner Khandaker Mohammad Muklesur Rahman, Acting District and Sessions Judge Jafrul Hasan and Headmaster of the school Abdul Karim Khan, among others, also addressed the function. Chairman of the Managing Committee of the institute and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mohammad Shajahan was in the chair, Earlier, the Chief Justice visited the District and Chief Judicial Magistrate courts and also observed the trial in several courtrooms. Later, he addressed a views-exchange meeting with the judicial officers at the local circuit. He also joined a function organized by the Bar association here. |
