Staff Correspondent Awami League presidium member and former agriculture minister Motia Chowdhury was admitted to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital Tuesday, doctors said. She was earlier taken to the coronary care unit of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital after falling ill at her home Tuesday morning. Motia was transferred to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital adjacent to BIRDEM Hospital in the afternoon, and is being treated there under the supervision of Dr Tamjid Ahmed. After visiting the AL leader at Ibrahim Cardicac Hospital, Awami League health affairs secretary Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin told reporters: "Motia Chowdhury is now a little better. After being brought to this hospital an ECG has been done. The result is good." Head of Holy Family hospital's medicine department Dr Kaniz Maula told bdnews24.com earlier: "Motia Chowdhury is physically weak. She has an inflamed digestive tract. She may also be suffering from jaundice." Motia Chowdhury's husband, Sangbad editor Bazlur Rahman, died recently. |
