Speakers at a workshop on Saturday stressed the need for modernization of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) to attain food autarky and meet the challenges of free-market economy, reports UNB.

The workshop on ‘BADC’s Role in the Present Context’ was held in the conference room of the BADC, said a press release.

Chairman of BADC Abdur Razzak attended the workshop as the chief guest. High officials of the agriculture ministry and BADC were present on the Occasion.

The speakers also laid emphasis on the supply of quality seeds to the farmers on time.

The BADC should play a key role in reaching new technology and hybrid seeds, particularly rice and vegetables, to the doorsteps of the farmers for maintaining its reputation, they added.
