The World Conservation Union (IUCN) at its 69th council meeting held in Gland, Switzerland from March 10-12, approved the admission of Wildlife Trust of Bangladesh (WTB) as a member in its national non-governmental category, reports UNB.

“This means the beginning of a mutually beneficial collaboration between IUCN and WTB. IUCN membership will encourage us to reinforce our activities in protecting our environment,” said Enayetullah Khan, Chairman of WTB.

WTB’s other international partners are Global Forest Coalition, Zoo Outreach Organisation, Wildlife Conservation Society, Dreamnight at the Zoo Foundation, International Zoo Educators Association, Global Science Productions and US Fish and Wildlife Service. WTB has been conducting action research in the fields of biodiversity and ecology.
