Staff Correspondent The visiting former Indian army officers, who had fought for Bangladesh's independence in 1971, and their wives visited the Liberation War Museum in Segun Bagicha Thursday. Akku Chowdhury, trustee member of the Liberation War Museum, said that the Indian team had stayed there for 45 minutes. Retired lieutenant general JFR Jacob, who is leading the team, signed the visitors' book, recalling the roles of the ordinary people of Bangladesh and army personnel in the Liberation War. The 19-member Indian team arrived in Dhaka Tuesday and joined state programmes to mark Independence Day on Wednesday. Army chief Moeen U Ahmed had invited them to Bangladesh during his recent visit to India. |
