Human chain formed Staff Reporter Samriddha Bangladesh, a non-government organisation, formed a human chain in the port city Wednesday seeking votes for Cox’s Bazar and the Sundarbans in a worldwide tourism promotion campaign. More than 50 people, including academicians, freedom fighters, writers and media personalities, took part in the human chain, which was scattered over many parts of the port city, including Pahartoli Killing Field, GEC crossing, Bahadderhat and Shaheed Minar at around 11:30 am. The participants urged the people to vote for Cox’s Bazar and the Sundarbans in an online campaign which will choose seven wonders of nature from 77 entries of tourist attractions worldwide. The voting will continue until December 31, 2008. The organisers earlier announced to stretch the human chain from Pahartoli to Cox’s Bazar sea beach. |
