The government has once again asked the Bangladeshis working in Saudi Arabia to abide by the laws of the kingdom.

‘We have appealed time and again to all members of the Bangladeshi community working in Saudi Arabia to abide by local laws’, said a spokesman for the ministry of expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment when his attention was drawn to recent media reports in the kingdom on alleged forgery of visitors’ passes by Bangladeshis staying there.

A news report carried by the Saudi Gazette newspaper said that Saudi police had caught ‘red-handed’ three Bangladeshis with hundreds of fake passes to palaces of Saudi princes.

‘Allegations such as this, if true, can harm our good reputation. We are confident that all members of the Bangladeshi community will pay heed to our appeals, and the majority will not suffer for the faults of a few,’ the spokesmen said.

He added that the Bangladesh mission in Saudi Arabia and the ministry concerned in Bangladesh were taking all possible measures to motivate the Bangladesh community in this regard.
