The commerce adviser, Hossain Zillur Rahman, left for India Sunday to attend the 3rd SAFTA Ministerial Council meeting beginning in New Delhi.

He will lead a seven-member delegation during the meeting.

A six-member delegation, which is already in New Delhi to the two-day 3rd SAFTA Committee of Experts’ meeting that began at the same venue on March 1, will join the adviser there during the meeting on Monday.

The delegation members are joint secretary of commerce ministry M Abdul Wahab Mian, director general (SAARC) of foreign ministry Kazi Imtiaz Hossin, joint chief of Bangladesh Tariff Commission Mostafa Abid Khan, deputy secretary of the ministry NM Ziaul Alam, 1st secretary (customs) of National Board of Revenue Zakia Sultana and minister (commerce) of Bangladesh ambassador to New Delhi Wasiuddin Ahmed.

The adviser is expected to return home on March 6, said a press release on Sunday.
