Police retrieved seven more dead bodies Sunday from the Buriganga, in the wake of Thursday's disastrous launch accident, pushing the death count to 46.

Friends and relatives of the still missing passengers of ML Sourav-1 were seen crowding the Buriganga banks around the accident spot near the Buriganga Bridge-1, hoping against hopes to find the bodies of their loved ones.

Syed Sajjad Selim, South Keraniganj police chief told bdnews24.com: "One woman and two children were among the dead." The launch bound for Dohuri, Munshiganj, sank with about 150 passengers on board as a sand-carrying vessel rammed into it from behind.
