3-day US Trade Fair begins in Dhaka today PDF Print E-mail

The three-day 17th annual US Trade Show will begin in the Dhaka city on Wednes- day.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh and the United States embassy are cosponsoring the event at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel.

Sixty-one US companies will display their products and service at 91 booths in the show, said Syed Ershad Ahmed, president of AmCham at a press conference on Monday.

Mahbub Jamil, special assistant to chief adviser, will inaugurate the show as chief guest.

Geeta Pasi, charge d' affaires of the United States embassy, Dhaka, and Ershad Ahmed will attend the opening ceremony. The show will be opened to the public from 10:00am to 8:00pm with an entry fee of Tk 10.00 per person.

School students in uniform and other students with identity cards will enjoy free entrance. US firms participating or being represented at the show include Coca-Cola, Pantina Cosmetics Inc, Infinity Technology Corporation, American Life Insurance Company, APL, Procter & Gamble, Kodak, SanofiAventis, American Airlines, Caterpillar, International Financial Institutions, Citibank, CARE, American World University, Chevron Corporation, IBM, Gateway, Belkin Components, Cisco, ADC Krone, 3Com Garmin, Micro World, MySQL, Lexmark, Fluke Corporation, Covanta Energy, Mayvill State University, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Inc, Hilton International, iDirect Technologies, HP, Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, 3M and Systimax.
