The students of a local college blocked Gopalganj-Tekerhat Road after transport workers assaulted one of their fellows in Ulpur area under sadar upazila on Monday.

The police said the supervisor of a bus and his associates assaulted Uzzal, a first year student of MH Khan Degree College, following an altercation at about 9:30am.

Being informed, other students of the college blocked the road in front of the institution and ransacked the bus. At least five persons were also injured during the time.

Later the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The officer-in-charge of the Kotwali police station Mosharraf Hossain said they seized the bus.
