ACC chairman Hasan Mashhud ChowdhuryOur Correspondent

ACC chairman Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury said Monday he would join any campaign to lay siege to graft-ridden institutions—the latest move by the country's top corruption buster.

"Writing long articles and giving tall orders on TV talk shows will not help root out malpractices from the society and administration," the ACC chairman said while attending a discussion meeting at Shilpakala Academy in the southern town of Patuakhali. "We all must work together.

You chalk out appropriate anti-corruption programmes and I'll be with you to implement them," he told . "Such drives will have to continue until all the blemishes of graft disappear from our soils," Chowdhury said.

"We must censure the corrupt people constantly, pressure them relentlessly until they give up malpractices," Chowdhury urged all to create and raise anti-graft awareness through rallies, human chains and other social activities.

Vice Chancellor of Patuakhali Science and Technology University Abdul Latif Masum, director general of ACC Abu Taleb Mia, deputy commissioner for Patuakhali Mir Mashiul Alam, advocate Abdul Aziz, Patuakhali Press Club president Abu Zafar Khan and freedom fighter Monwara Monu attended the meeting and spoke on the occasion.
