Staff Correspondent The preliminary round of the fourth JFA Cup Under-15 Football Championship, financed by Japan Football Association and organised by Bangladesh Football Federation, starts simultaneously at five venues across the country. The venues are Jamalpur stadium, Khulna stadium, Dinajpur stadium, Manikganj stadium and Moulvibazar stadium. A total of 60 district teams along with BKSP, divided into eight groups, are taking part in the tournament. The zonal matches of Bhola, Pabna and Cox's Bazar will start later. Sunamganj, Pirojpur and Khagrachhari are the only three non-playing districts. The eight zonal champions will join holders Dhaka and final round hosts Rajshahi for the 10-team final round to be held in the first week of March. Sponsors Japan Football Association has provided over Tk 17.5 lakh ($25,000) out of a total budget of Tk 21.09 lakh for the tournament. Each team will receive Tk 9,000 as participation money and each winning team in the first round will receive Tk 4,000 as prize money. The organisers of each venue will get Tk 30,000. The 10 final round teams will receive Tk 25,000 each while the four semi-finalists and two finalists will get an additional Tk 5,000 for each match. Tournament committee chairman Abdur Rahim, BFF acting general secretary Manjoor Hossain Malu and tournament committee secretary AKM Nuruzzaman disclosed the details of the tournament at a press conference at the BFF conference room on Saturday. |
