The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has qualified 34 firms for taking part in an auction for two interconnection exchange licences and 9 firms for one international internet gateway licence to carry voice and data traffic of all internet operators.

The commission officials said on Wednesday they sent letters to the firms asking each of them to deposit Tk 3 crore for exchange licence and Tk 1 lakh for gateway licence in bid security in seven working days to bid in the auction.
