Unknown miscreants exploded a bomb Saturday evening in the porch of the Green Road home of Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, former president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA).

"Unidentified persons threw two cocktails into the porch at 7:25pm. One cocktail exploded with a bang while the other is lying there unexploded.

However, none has been injured," Prof Siddique, who teaches mass communication and journalism, told bdnews24.com. Duty officer of Dhanmondi Police Station sub-inspector Sheuli Khanam said at 8:30pm, "We have just heard about it. The police are going to the spot." Prof Siddique had earlier been threatened over telephone and by letter.
