Tarique taken to hospital Staff Correspondent

BNP's detained senior joint secretary general Tarique Rahman was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University hospital Thursday.

Tarique, son of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, was taken from jail to the hospital in a prison van around 3pm.

Tarique who is suffering from neck and waist pains will be kept under supervision of the doctors at the orthopaedic department of BSMMU, deputy inspector general (prisons) Major Shamsul Haider Siddiqui said. Tarique was taken to BSMMU for a health check-up earlier on Tuesday.

The doctors had advised him to be treated in hospital. Joint forces arrested Tarique on March 8 last year. Several cases against him are pending with court.
