Agency The Anti-Corruption Commission chairman, Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, on Tuesday urged all to boycott corrupt people socially for building a corruption-free country. Describing the corruption as a social curse, he said, 'We have to build a social movement against corruption.' The ACC chairman was addressing a view-exchange meeting on 'combating corruption' in the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Meherpur. Mashhud said, 'Corruption would not be stopped in a day, but we have to bring down it at a tolerable level.' He stressed the need for holding rally, human chain, view-exchange meeting and other programmes to create awareness against the corruption. The ACC director general, Mohammad Abu Taleb, the deputy commissioner, Mohammad Atahar Ali, police super Mohammad Abdur Razzak, Principal of Meherpur Government College Waliul Islam, local elite, public representatives, journalists and government officials attended the meeting, among others. |
