Staff Repoter The Election Commission has so far completed 39.6 per cent voters' registration in five districts in the Chittagong region, officials concerned said. Some 27,41,663 eligible people out of total 69,24,407 in Chittagong, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati and Khagrachari were registered as voters, they added, saying that the registration of the rest people would be completed by July this year. The voters' registration work started from August 24, 2007. The officials said they had been facing problems to carry out voters' registration work in the three hill districts due to lack of electricity and other required facilities. 'Really it's very difficult to go for voter registration work at 79 spots in the CHT. It's also not so easy to mobilise the tribal people for voter registration,' an official said. There is difference in carrying out voter registration work at plain land and hilly areas, he added.
