Texas Group, a collection of 14 companies involved in the textile, information and communications technology and lifestyle sectors, has changed their name to 'aamra', the Bangla word for 'we'.

The change in branding of the group of companies was formally announced through a function at the Sheraton Hotel on Monday, said a press release.

The managing director of the group, Syed Farhad Ahmed, said, 'We believe our new name would prove our allegiance to roots and origin, providing a reflection of our personal commitment to our core values.'

From now on Texas Group's business of providing internet services, Global Online Services Limited, will be called aamra networks limited, according to the announcement.
