Five people were killed and 10 injured in two road accidents in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Saturday. Witnesses said a Natore-bound microbus from Dhaka collided head on with a bus at Dewhata at about 8:00am killing three including the microbus driver, and injuring 10 others from both the vehicles.

Two of the deceased were identified as Rupali, 12, daughter of Saudi-expatriate Nakim Uddin and Sufia Begum, 28. The identity of the driver could not be known immediately.

The passengers of the microbus were returning to their village home in Natore after receiving Nakim at the Zia International Airport in the capital. In another accident, a Dhaka-bound microbus rammed a rickshaw and a tempo coming from the opposite direction at Etail Dullah Munsur killing rickshaw-puller and tempo- driver.
