![]() Artistes sing at the Victory Day celebration in Oslo Peter Daae, Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh Embassy in Norway was the chief guest at the event. Founder of the Bangladesh Association, Norway Golam Moazzem; general secretary, Badrul Islam; member of the Advisory Committee, Khurshid Ahmed and Dr. Ashim Kumar Dutta, Professor, Oslo University were present as special guests. The programme began with recitation from the Holy Quran by Shariar Niloy. Rendition of the National Anthem of Bangladesh followed. A solemn love for the country was reflected through words of the discussants. “Every expatriate Bangladeshi is like an ambassador himself. We represent our country abroad. We should try our best to uphold the image of our country,” said Golam Moazzem. The discussants also recollected the experiences during the Liberation War and the contribution of the Bengali communities abroad to generate awareness on the war among people all over the world. Dilara Zaman, Hasibur Rahman, Nili Banik, Surovi Borua, Ranjana, Rumana and others participated in the cultural programme that featured patriotic songs, dance and recitations. Source: The Daily Star
